Welcome to Edmonton
This should be the opening of a blog about the Canucks being in Edmonton and all the adventures that have come our way thus far.
This should be some supporting details, maybe a pun or two, a joke even, and some relevant information that really makes you appreciate Fort Nucks.
This should be about where you get a little jealous of life on the road and wish you were here as well.
Shoulda, woulda, coulda.
This is where I’ll report that there’s nothing to report so far, unfortunately. The Canucks took no time at all getting out of Rogers Arena post-game Saturday and Air Canucks was shredding clouds by just after 8 p.m.
The flight was smooth, the peanut butter & jelly was delicious and I’d like to say I kicked back and watched Moneyball as it played in-flight, but I had way more fun writing The Goods for that 6-2 win over Toronto. What a game.
Once in Edmonton it was off to bed for everyone and off to Rexall Place this morning for five guys (Schneider, Sulzer, Alberts, Bitz and Weise) for a light skate. Now I’m back at the hotel writing this right now.
Puck drop is 7 p.m. Alberta time (6 p.m. PST) so until then it’s pre-game naps for the players who pre-game nap, a snack and we’ll be back at the rink in no time at all.
Wild stuff, I know.
I kind of assumed the trip would be slow off the hop, which makes for some less than tantalizing bloggage, so during the third period of the Canucks/Maple Leafs game I posed a question to Canucks fans via @CanucksGame and the answers were as hilarious as I expected.
The question: On a scale of 1 to 10, how mad would you be if you ordered a Kesler jersey and it came back as Kessel…?
The answers, ranked in no particular order except that clearly the one with the photo is the best.
@pinkcreamsoda – more upset than brian burke is at the moment.
@EveryRose101 – As angry as Scott Gomez was on his one-year no goal celebration day
@russiankoolaid – I’d be the entire Philadelphia fanbase. #alwaysmad
@rodmickleburgh – The Hockey Sweater redux…
@mattthemascot – I’d be more mad if my hamhuis jersey came in as phaneuf. Its not even close
@JustinTillyer – neither of those are as bad as this picture my brother took outside Rogers Arena last year:
This picture is superb for so many reasons and is definitely worthy of a shout out on Puck Daddy’s Jersey Fouls, if it hasn’t already gotten one.
That’s it for me, check back tomorrow for a blog with hopefully a tad bit more spice and likely a few cowboy references.
